Transport options in Thames

Thames has a reasonably flat town centre and can be explored by foot or bike. We have one of the longest, straightest main streets in New Zealand and challenge anyone to walk it from one end to the other.

Thames is small enough not to require a public transport system, but there is a good taxi service that can get you around town. Being the main transport centre of the Peninsula you will find a couple of choices of public coach operators that can connect you with destinations around the Coromandel, and to larger centres such as Auckland, Tauranga, Hamilton or Rotorua.
